on windows 95 and 98, qmserver does not shut down automatically when i close my system.
this is a known bug in windows 95 and 98 (microsoft knowledge base article q130717). we have been unable so far to find a work-around for this problem. it will be necessary to close qmserver manually using the qm network control window or by clicking on the yes option to the windows prompt that appears when shutdown is attempted.
users of windows nt, 2000 and xp are not affected by this problem. prior to release 1.2-1, the qmserver process intercepted a signal from windows to tell it that the system was shutting down. from release 1.2-1 onwards, qmserver has been replaced by a windows service, qmsvc, which is shut down automatically by windows.
